Mobile app gives employees an easy way to manage important health tasks

After installing the Enterprise Health app, employees can access the employee portal by logging in using their organization’s existing single sign-on capabilities. Once logged in, the portal offers a branded experience for employees who gain access to the same information and functionality from their phones as they can from their desktops. This allows them to manage important health tasks such as appointment scheduling and completion of consent forms and questionnaires.

“In today’s increasingly mobile world, employers want to make it easy for employees to stay connected and actively manage their at-work health,” explained Jeff Donnell, president of Enterprise Health. “The COVID-19 pandemic and need for daily symptom monitoring elevated this need, so we collaborated with several of our clients to create functionality that is relevant to the way enterprises manage the health and work status of their employees today.”

The Enterprise Health app also enables employers to send real-time push notifications to employees. A common use for push notifications is to prompt employees to complete daily COVID symptom monitoring and questionnaires. The notifications can include links that will take employees directly to the mobile app to complete required tasks and receive work status clearance.

Using real-time push notifications instead of email or text/SMS messages alleviates server bandwidth issues resulting from daily email sends to large numbers of employees and unforeseen technology costs associated with sending text messages. One Enterprise Health client estimated that sending daily text messages to prompt its more than 70,000 employees to complete symptom monitoring could result in more than $400,000 in annual text message fees. This does not include fees incurred by employees who do not have texting services included in their mobile plans.

The new Enterprise Health mobile app can now be configured for all existing clients to replicate their patient portal experience. Once set up, client employees can download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
